Can you explain the cooling issue? You were going to get the Thermaltake cooler and additional compound. Why do you not need the compound with the Arctic pro 7 cooler?

It's because the Artic Pro 7 cooler comes with a great compound, so no need to buy one seperately.

I'm sure some others have said, but you have a retail CPU and a CPU cooler on the list. Go with the OEM CPU so it cuts off like $10 (no fan comes with the OEM)

The compound that comes already applied on it is good enough, from what i hear. i have the 64 version for AMD and didn't bother changing the compound when i got it.

Clubit.com has the same HDD for $94 and the Q6600 for $230, could save a couple bucks.

You can go with a cheaper non-lite scribe DVD-R (believe me you will never use the light scribe feature).
Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners

While Fry.com is selling the Q6600 for $189 right now, I'm pretty sure they are the B3 stepping (older version). It may be worth it to buy from them as the difference is really only the lower temps and possible better overclocking.

With all these links and various discussions I now have my set up down to $935!!
Objective accomplished!

I'm going to wait after the 20th to purchase all the components and I'm sure I'm going to get even lower prices by then.

Thank you everyone!
