Vista Freezes when I start WMWARE

Hi,
I have a Dual-Core 2GB RAM Vista Home Premium computer and everytime I start my Virtual VMware machine, it freezes for about 2 minutes ( Memory spikes from 1.1GB to 2.00GB) Then everything works fine. I have added memory to the total of 3GB, but the same thing happens; memory spike and nothing for about 2 minutes.)
I do not have any problems with my other XP machine that has the same VMware software installed.

Any Ideas?
