motherboard compatibility

It won't work, because you've chosen DDR memory, and that motherboard only supports DDR2. So I would sugggest either:

2 x 1GB Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2-800[N]
2 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix Tracers DDR2-800[N]
2 x 1GB GeIL DDR2-800[N]
2 x 1GB OCZ Reaper HPC Edition DDR2-800[N]
2 x 1GB Team Xtreem DDR2-800[N]

About the RAM compatibility issues, the latest BIOS usually fixes them.

All AM2 socket motherboards only support DDR2. There maybe some that support both DDR/DDR2, but theres no point, when DDR2 is at it's lowest price point.

Reason I dont want ddr2 is because my motherboard gave out and wanted to just upgrade my cpu and mobo to am2 while using the same old ram i had but i guess ill have to get some ram too.

Is this also the case w/ the new intel motherboards?

*edit*

meh, you're right those prices are ridiculously low, i think i'll just go with the OCZ reaper kit since i've been very happy with their products in the past.

Yes. Seriously though, DDR2 is very cheap these days. Look at the list, I showed you earlier.

What CPU are you upgrading to?
