PC freezes even on BIOS! Need help

ahhh, missed that bit; could still be the cause though, in which case he'll either have to send it back (if its under warranty), get a specialist to repair it/source the motherboard from somewhere or buy a new one.

The laptop is out of warranty, if not my neighbor would not had ask me to check it/fix it.

Anyway I will ask to a friend of mine for some RAM so I can confirm that is in fact the memory.
