thats just one test though, are we just going to recommend the 8800gtx over the 9800gx2 completely? I hope not

I believe the 9800GX2's power will greatly increase in the future due to the driver suc*ing right now.

true true, but hopefully the 9900gx2 doesn't suck in Crysis

If you read the post you'll notice that it only is worse if you're running it at a high resolution with 4xAA on without that it runs better. It gets a decent framerate with 2xAA too. Problem is that it doesn't have as much memory.

With newer driver updates it'll probably use the memory it has better. Well hopefully. Regardless for most people this situation shouldn't come up. If you do need such a high resolution set up then you should probably just buy two in sli.

well thats just Crysis,

looks like Nvidia still has a ton of tweaking in their SLI drivers.

Crysis is by far the crappiest piece of code on the planet at this moment. Just look how good CoD4 handles SLI and multicore chips.

Crysis = hype.

also at 1280x1024 I've seen a 9800GX2 do over 90fps in the High bench...that;s freakin impressive

Just like how the 7950 was going to improve in the future with drivers. Same thing with the 2900XT. Waiting for drivers is kind of foolish given both companies track history.
