What's ATA? does it have anything to do with the red SATA cable that plugs into the back of the hard drive and then on the motherboard?

ok serial ata is sata, or the thin cable, and its what you want. IDE or ATA (other name for it) is the old type, with that really fat ribbon ide cable. Sata harddrives use a sata power connector, while ide ones use a molex

yea, serial ata (sata for short). Thats an OEM drive so it doesent come with a cable, so you have to buy one. Newegg.com - OKGEAR 6" SATA II cable Model GC6AKM - Retail

thats only 6 inches, so vary size accordingly

PATA is another name for IDE as well. you only want SATA

Hey.. I have a big aluminum block with a CPU hooked to it via thermal paste... I found it out of a computer that was confiscated because of a divorce and chold porhograpy issues... How do i find out what speed the CPU is besides putting it in my computer?
