Where are you getting Vista for free? I want one haha... Get the q6600 is future proof the e8400 is not.

The e8400 will still last atleast a year and it will outperform the Q6600 in games for another 6-8 months

What i am saying is that it is a great way to save money and still get bang for your buck

you can save about 20 each if you use froogle to get em

is the vista you are getting 32bit or 64bit

32-bit I think, but it was free.

I won't include the OS cost into this though.

I'll prolly get Vista Home Premium X64.

just so you know 32bit os's cant use more ythan 3.5 gigs of ram and adding more can give you BSODS and random memory errors

2gigs is more than ok for now

It might be my mistake, but on newegg they're both $250

E8400
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail

Q6600
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor - Retail

Also the E8400 is out of stock... :(

OK almost done here...I updated the list

The cost is roughly $1177 which is fine. (Without Shipping)

Just wondering if everything I need for a fully operational PC is there.

Sound Cards anyone?

get the q6600.
the extra performance ull get imo isnt worth it..
4 cores>2 cores!

it will benefit you in many other ways...trust me!
