Ok this is ****ing me off..
its been happening for the past week.
First it was while playing madden and listening to music...i thought it was cos of the new drivers...but then it happened when i was trying to copy a disk....it happened 2 times in a row.

I tried copying the disk agagin and bam...bsod again.
I ran stock settings and still...ran orthose..the occt test and it passed.

im gonna install nero and try.

I user ashampoo burning studio 7 to burn stuff...

what does the error say?

I used to get this on vista sometimes when playing games and using any media player (quicktime, wmp11, nero)

I fixed it by installing xp.

Check your systems log to see if it caught the problem. You have a directory set to dump info in right? Also you can switch the quick BSOD's off. In System Properties->Advanced there's a checkbox in Startup/Recovery that says "Automatic Restart on System Failure". Try to find the hex code it's gives you when it crashes.

in the startup and recovery..shud i uncheck syste restart..adn then wat else?

shud i checkmark write an event to the system log? and enable one of the write debugging infos?

And i ran memtest all night and it passes lik 24 tests without errors.

It's not your ram, yes i did get black screens and hanging but I also got BSODs.

It always said nvlddmkm.sys or driv4.sys for me.

it could've been the ram, certainly because he is overclocked (aren't you?).
ram is the first thing i check when i bsod.
then cpu voltage/stability,
then programs /drivers,
then virus/spyware (which often it is).
