Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06 Top List

Thanks guys!

So....I find something rather interesting. I increased my clocks to 717/1006 and actually scored less, 17,996. That's only like what, 42 or so points under, but still. Increased clocks hindered my performance? I think I'll just keep her at 702/1000. From what I've read online it's near what most people can get them stable at.

Sometimes the scores go down, because the overclock is not stable.

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06 Top List

Otis is destroying that scoreboard!

I tried to go for some higher OC's on both my q6600 and my 8800 gt but this crappy mobo and the temps inside my house, outside, and in my case are just killing me... Oh well I guess I'll have to wait until i get my mobo and case.

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06 Top List

thats probably around what he'd get in a future 3dmark version though ;)

also don't the HD3850 (because you v'modded it) perform exactly like a HD3870? or is the hd3850 still a bottleneck

the only difference is DDR3 vs DDR4. DDR4 gives a bit more memory bandwidth....my 3850 has tighter timings because of the DDR3 and also clocks pretty high (2200mhz), but bandwidth makes more of a difference for gpus so the 3870 will always be just a little ahead.

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06 Top List

you should get in the region of 17-18K :)

On a side note, has anyone here benched Crysis @ 1680x1050 DX10 Very High?

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06 Top List

He needs like 3.8-4ghz on the quad and 880-900mhz on the 3870x2. We're rootin for you buddy

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06 Top List

Once he laps that q6600 he will probably get it... He is already at 3.7ghz btw :D.

Wow, all these new builds are coming in soon, I can't wait too see the scores!

Has veedub decided on his gpu solution yet?
