Ok, heres the Deal. My friend want's to sell his laptop so he can get more money for his bike. He has a few laptops, but wants to sell this one. It's a toshiba A135-S4656 series with 512 ram, widescreen, Celeron m (1.6ghz) and has a 80 gig HD ( big enough for me). It also has windows Vista Basic ( which is hogging the ram, so I'd like to upgrade to at least a gig). Heres the best part, He wants to let it go for only $150.

My question is, Even if i upgrade the RAM, Is the processor still going to keep this laptop sluggish? The computer is in great condition, battery still holds a full charge and everything. I'm going to be doing mostly word processing, itunes and light gaming.
So what do you say? Yay or nay?

I would say definitely jump at this deal. This is not a new laptop by any means, but $150 is a crazy good price. I have a laptop with similar specs that plays WoW perfectly fine on lowest settings.

You can always downgrade to XP, probably better for a laptop like that since, as you already stated, vista is a resource hog.

Ya, the processor wont be a problem. My acer is only 1.6ghz single core with 1gb of memory and does everything a laptop needs to. Plays movies, surfs porn, just dont expect it to run games.

ohhhh yaaaaa...

Ya take the deal... thats a nice price.

If it's your first laptop might as well go for it. Later down the years, or perhaps months if you'd like, you can always upgrade to a better one.

Ok then, I think I'll take him up on this deal, especially since Ram is mucho cheap nowadays. (under 40$ for 2gb stick?!?!? go Newegg!!!). It's Not like I'm purchasing this lappy for gaming anyways, But It's nice to be able to work on the go,and play some light games. Thanks again for your opinions.
