haha, that sucks. thanks for giving me a link to that site. if im saving that much, i dont really mind waiting a bit and seeing if they get any in soon. u think the e8400 is a better buy than the q6600?

At this point in time, yeah, quad core support still isn't mainstream so you would benefit more form the sheer speed of the e8400.

awesome, so here is what i have so far.

Processor: Intel core2duo E8400
Graphics Card: Geforce 8800GT 512 mb
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid-Tower
Power Supply: Corsair 520hx
Operating System: Vista Home Premium 64
Motherboard: ABIT IP35-E LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
RAM: OCZ Reaper HPC edition 4GB(2 x 2gb) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 (PC2 6400) Duel Channel Kit

i guess the next component would be the hard drive.

Instead of the 8800gt try and squeeze out the extra cash to get a gts (g92)

And instead of the corsair 520hs save a little cash and get the PC Power and Cooling 610W power supply. It has a better design with al the amps on one rail and has more power to boot!

The Antec 900 in my opinion blows. Unless your dead set on it, consider a full tower alternative. The extra space is a real blessing.

Other than that your golden.

For the hard drive check out Seagate's 32mb cache offerings.

these 2 hard drives are the same price. which one is the better buy? or does anyone suggest a better one?

Newegg.com - Open Box: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31000340AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
