X-Fi Soundcard problems

greets,

well, i finally got my new box setup and i have 2 x-fi sound card, one that i believe is the xtreme gamer series (not exactly sure, but pretty sure), and the other that is the xtreme music series (or w.e you call that one), i would really like to use them but when i plug them into the pci slot on my mobo (intel x38) windows doesnt detect them and when i try to install drivers it doesnt find that the card is there, ive tried both and none of them work. any ideas what's up?

You have to disable onboard sound in the BIOS.

man there seems to be a lot of people not doing this lately, anyway like peter said that should do the trick if that is indeed the problem.
