Bad Hard Drive

I have a small 80g hard drive at home and it has frozen on me
now the thing is i have files on it that i want to retrieve
just want some input as to if there is some software or cheap
hardware i can get to do this and not have to pay $700 to get it done

Mmm you could try putting it in another system as a slave drive, see if it's not a hardware issue, if it aint then you can easily recover your data

Agreed, or you could throw the drive into an external case and hook it up to a working computer, either way, you should still be able to retrieve the files if the drive isn't completely dead.
