Basically I need to build a PC from scratch capable of running the latest games on around an 800 dollar budget. I'll most likely be ordering from newegg.

Here is what I found in about 20 minutes of browsing

ABIT IP35-E LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

EVGA 512-P3-N841-A3 GeForce 8800GTS

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz Processor

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

If you could recommend any better choices and/or fill in missing parts (unsure about tower/cooling ect) I would be most grateful.

Looks good but I wouldn't spend that much on a e6420. I would get either a e8400 if you can find one, spend more and get a q6600, or spend way less and get a pentium e2160/2180/2200. Either way overclock, but if your not going to overclock then get the q6600 or e8400. e6750 is even a better choice but theres not really a reason to get the e6xxx anymore.

For cooling it depends on your budget and overclocking plans so...
TRUE (probably to much for a $800 budget)
Tuniq Tower
Artic Freezer 7

And I would say to get a 7200.11 drive from seagate.

you could get a 8800gt, a e2140 with a xigmatek rifle cooler and that would cut costs by a good margin, and you could oc the 2140 uber high, like 3ghz high. and you might be able to squeeze a monitor in depending on how far you cut your costs.

to me the e2xxx cpu's are great. If I had to buy one right now I would go after the e2200 just because of the high multi and it's relative ease of hitting mid-high 3ghz clocks
