Hi. I am thinking of wasting $5k on my new high-end desktop. Post parts that you think I should buy.

Bottom line you're just willing to pay too much, I hope you're joking. You can build a PC for under a grand that'll do anything you want it to if you trim all the fat and know how to shop.
 
And since you have so much money you will want to buy a power supply not of the coolermaster brand, they are ok but with nearly 6K you can do better.

Not under a grand but your right... 5k is too much.

But if he really wants to spend that much why hold back?

Screw the q6600... throw in something better for him, lol... it's not the only cpu out there.

IDK about you but i have hardly even used my optical drive since I installed XP.. lol .. Most of my games are on steam or ... well... nvm
