no.. nvidia bought out PhysX. So there is no telling what will happen.

My guess is that nvidia is just going to implement the technology in their gpus and (possibly) start to make there own dedicated PPU in the future.. but who knows?
 
I heard the 8 and 9 series already have the capabilites to support PhysX built in, so I heard there could be a patch coming out to make them work as well.

PhysX had a great idea, but their only flaw was that it didn't work with most games, and it didn't improve performance.

I think a PPU will be needed, just like how the GPU was introduced.. at first it was "ehh" then it became a necessity
 
But it doesn't work that way. It only enables extra effects on special games. It actually decreases your frames. Only a few games even use it. If it did, then it would be much more popular and probably would have survived.
 
It was a waste when it was introduced and I think Ghost Recon was basically the only game that really supported it.

All in all, a great idea, poorly implemented and ahead of it's time.
