g92 gts or 3870x2

ok so i have a deal with wild side to buy his 3870x2 when he is more definate on the next gen of cards, my dilema is eh is oferign it to me for 350, bu i have to wait a bit, now my situation is i can pick up a g92 gts for 260

thing is if i go with nvidia i will want to go sli and would like an nvidia board so i was thinking on if i buy the 8800gts i would sell my mobo and buy an asus stirker 2 formula, (im in love with the gamer republic boards) anyway do i buy wildsides 3870x2 for 350 and give him my 7950gt or do i buy the 8800gts and sell my mobo.

The 3870X2 is the more powerful card, but at 260 I would grab the 8800GTS now.

but that also involves selling my mobo for around 220$

ive also got this option, to sell my whole rig for aroudn 1100$/1200 and buy this seems resonable especialy with my very low vid q6600, not lapped.

its not a bad considering i get a full tower, a new mobo and a 8800gts 512mb for 200/300$ more.

its just a hella lot of trouble.

Some people are saying it can't handle 2 gts g92 and i doubt it can handle 2 3870 x2

it could definatly handle two 8800gts g92. im not sure what vdub uses as a psu but it may be a corsair 520hx.

EDIT: i whent to check his sig, he runs an identical system to mine and has hiogh over clocks and has 2 8800gts g92 cards on one 520hx.

i wouldnt get rid of the maximus formula... wait on 9800gtx pricing, it oc's way higher than the 8800gts.. 900 core on stock volts...

At what resolution do you game? Why do you want SLI?
