i have heard that microsoft is going to release windows SEVEN by 2012. What may be its new features? DirectX 11? and improved GUI........
what may be its derivation?? WINDOWS "7"?

First off Wikipedia is wrong. It is 2010 that it is confirmed for. 2nd Wikipedia is wrong. They have no clue about Windows 7. The first build was already released for this.

The info on Windows 7 is still scarce since it is only in its early Beta stages but anyone with real knowledge does not put it on Wikiedia cause that breaks our NDA with Microsoft.

um, I think they did say 2010. "Release date: 2010 (tentative)" to be exact, but anyway.

They must have changed it. Last time i looked at Wikipedia they said 2009 going with the news articles that stated this info. Both of which were wrong.

I have also heard about 2010, but I'd prefer it to be ojn 2012, because by then Vista will have become much more stable than they are now despite the fact I believe they are better than xp right now. How would it be if 7 was released and most pc users were still using win xp?

It will be 2010. Does nobody understand how the Microsoft OS cycle goes? Have they not looked at the past before XP?

All of them were within 2-3 years of each other. Windows 7 will hit in 2010 as Microsoft has stated. It was not until XP that they fell behind.
