few questions about lapping

i was wondering where i could pick up some wet sandpaper

also where did you guys get a glass panel??? do you usually get it from a picture frame?

There are lapping kits sold with all the sandpaper needed, plus a flat surface to lap on.

They sell lapping kits with a little glass surface.

Yea, any flat surface. But most use a glass surface.

hmm thx for the site didnt realize it would be that cheap for a kit, also for lapping a heatsink do you need that micron sand paper or is it not really nessisary?

All you need is sandpaper ranging from grits, 400-1500. You can get them at automotive stores.

but not all lowes and home depot have them, mine only have up to 400grit

I got my lap kit from that site I put up, in my previous post. Goes up to 2500 grit. It's not necessary, but it's nice to have.

What about water cooling heatsink? Do you lap that? Or does that not give any better performance?
