GTX is only about 15-20% better than the GTS and the ULTRA is only 15-20% better than the GTX

because the if we based things on specs, than the hd 3870 > 8800Ultra, and thats not true, what you should do to make your decision is look at benchmarks

Thanks for your replays. I think it will be between the ATI 3870 and the EVGA 8800 GT. Still need to decide.

Go for the 8800GT 512mb if you can, otherwise I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the 3870

ATi - 3870 512mb (an option if you change your mind about ATI, better than a 9600GT.)
