I removed 1gb of ram and tried it. I rolled back to WMP 10 and tried again. Then I used an older driver for the video card and tried. Each time the same message on the blue screen keeps popping up only for dvd playback with WMP. Any other ideas? I appreciate the help.

What file are you trying to load that it keeps crashing it?

It crashes with any dvd that I try to run through windows media player. Any burned dvd or retail dvd movie.

Alright after doing some searching i have found that this could be caused by bad RAM. I suggest you download MemTest86 and run it. Got the answer from various sites via google including Experts Exchange.

Remember to try each dimm by itself to see if you spot a bad dimm when going to run memtest. There are two versions one for floppy and a second available for burn to cd-r. There is also a retail pro version available. Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

I ran memtest86 and it came up with 0 errors so I believe that means the memory is ok from what I understand about the program. Any other ideas?
