for high performance gaming stuff, like ballistix or something. 4-4-4-12 is normal for ddr2-800. The slower, the better the timings, for example, a set of ddr2-533 might have 3-3-3-10? I dont know what they are when you get that slow though.. The ddr2-1066 is just ddr2-800 with 5-5-5-15 timings.

on newegg it only lists a single digit number such as 4 or 5. is 4 about as good as it gets for larger RAM sizes

yes, 4 is good. and if you go into the specs it will give you 4 numbers. for ddr2 800 4 cas is good
