1394 net adapter disappeared

Platform Win xp sp2, mbo gigabyte 945gzm-s2

In my network connections I had Dial-up connection Local area connection(cable unplugged) and 1394 net adapter icon. When I installed wireless usb connection, 1394 net adapter disappeared after few days. After that I couldn't find it or install it in every way imaginable. I even formated hdd and installed same version of windows and nothing. I didn't change anything in bios in meantime, and I didn't install wirelles usb connection.

HELP NEEDED URGENT!

Well, first of all, I find it unlikely that you were using FireWire for any networking...

I'm not sure why it would disappear, but why worry when you'd never use it?

He's talking about the 1394 connection in Network Connections. All Windows PC's that I've seen have it once a Local Area Connection is created.

Is your internet not working now because of it? If it's still working I wouldn't worry about it.

Might have become disabled in your BIOS. I'd check that. Is it still listed under Device Manager?
