They just came out, and being Ballistix, I'm sure they're good. I haven't heard anything bad from them yet, at the other forums.

But I recently read that the 1GB module Ballistixes being shipped now, are single sided. And it could have an effect on it's overclocking capabilities. To tell if you got the new one or not, the old models which are double sided, have those two metal latches on top, to hold the two heatspreaders together. The new one doesn't.

well the single sided ones will be worst at overclocking if tahts what u mean...right?

and i didnt reall y oc my ram..just set the multi to 2 and timings to 4 4 4 12....

At least that's what it looks like. I would expect high performance ram to have more than a single sided stick of memory.

Not sure if you've noticed or not, b1g, but the DS3R is a deactivated item on Newegg now; so you can't get it off of the egg.
