you would be much better off with a q6600. the best possible thing you could buy right now. unless you want to go the extreme route, which would be useless unless you are gonna heavily overclock.

especially at $200 bucks

plus some water cooling or something to make sure you can use that unclocked multi.

um well thats a little too extreme for me lol. what makes the q6600 better than the one i listed

the q6600 is smaller, is a quad core (correct me if im wrong, but that amd is dual), and the cache on that is tiny.

would it be worth it to try to find a 3.0 or bigger quad core with a larger cache? do they even make them

They make the quad cores at 3ghz, but they are up at about $1000. Just OC the q6600. Just get the q6600. You will not regret it.

correct me if im wrong, but the basics of multicore processors are one program can only run on one core correct? so if i have a large CAD program running will the 2.4 be enough to support it
