Yep, every day i'm more and more satisfied with my GTS512 purchase. Although i'm not happy with the freaking giant price drops since i bought them.

If this is true, then its worse even than the HD2900 series... Ouch.

Nah because it shows that it's slightly faster than the 8800GTS 512mb in 3dmark.....and the 8800GTS is much better than the hd2900 series.

But eitherway, it's hardly an increase over the 8800GTS, which is now in the 200something dollar range.

I meant for the time, not overall performance wise. At least the 2900XT beat ATis last gen (the X1950XTX) well, but this is only slightly faster than nVs last gen (i.e. 8800GTX, GTS) im saying.

Well its still using the G92 core, which means at best it can only have 128 sps, and still has a 256bit memory bus, so there are only so many gains they can make. Needless to say, i'll probably be skipping the 9 series cards, since i wont be able to use my stepup for the gx2.

If those are right that is dissapointing. I scored 11391 marks with my CPU at 2.8 GHz and GPU at 612/2000, which are fairly small overclocks and is still only 1999 below the 9800GTX with a C2D @ 3.5 GHz. Looks like it still uses massive amount of power too by the twin 6-pin power connectors as the 8800 GTX does. Unless that thing overclocks like mad I don't see anything revolutionary.
