I purchased a set of hardware consisting of the following:

1. ABIT AN52V M/B
2. AMD2 4200+ cpu/fan
3. 1 Gig 667 DDR2 memory
4. Gigabyte GEFORCE 8600 GT NX86 series w/heat pipe.

I put these items in the case, hooked up to the monitor and turned on the PS. The LEDs light and the CPU fan comes on, but BIOS does not display on the screen. Screen totally blank. Unfortunately, this is all new hardware and I have no components to swap out - I only have AGP, incompatible memory, etc.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance.

2 things come to mind.

1. Did you here any audible beeps?
2. does the mobo have onboard graphics?

Also where did you purchase these parts from?

I get no beep codes. There's no onboard graphics.

Bought it at MWAVE. Not my first purchase from them - everything was new in boxes.

Never mind - I found it. I wasn't aware that the new CPUs require a separate power supply. As I said, this was the first upgrade in over 5 years.

Once I hooked that up, the BIOS appeared on the screen.
