PCI-e 2.0 allows 32x while 1.1 is still only 16x. Right now, no cards fully utilize 16x, but 8x does cause bottlenecks on some cards. I'd guess a GT uses around 12x.

Yeah, I meant Edition.

Well I was referring to the AMD 6400+ Black Edition which has the windsor core that as someone else has stated, overheats fairly easily, making OC'ing a pain.

^^ that was me ;)

but to the OP if you are confused by this Windsor/Brisbane talk I'll explain it

Windsor Core:
- 90nm manufacturing process
- possibly less overclocking headroom
- higher temperatures/ very easy to overheat

^^^ thats really a chain reaction

Brisbane Core:
- 65nm manufacturing process
- good overclocking headroom
- at the same CPU frequency as the Windsor the Brisbane would have lower temperatures
- won't overheat unless you have a crappy cooler

But as far as I know, there is no Brisbane core copies of the x2 6400+?

thats why we recommend the x2 5000+ Black Edition, raise up the multiplier and its at 6400+ Stock speeds
