going from a pro to a 3850 is a big jump.. and if you don't feel like upgrading everything.. i say its a good thing!!! a 3850 is like something that of a 1950xtx... actually maybe even better... which i think it is! so i say go for it...

3850 should play anything and everything on full... besides crysis...

meh.. i don't think so.. in 3dmark yes.. but the 2900pro... was outdone by the 8800gts 640mb... and that was overclocked.... so the hd3850 is lesser than the pro... so bleh.... i see slightly better than x1950xtx

my 3850 blows through everything on maxed except crysis, but i have pcie, so the agp should be great for gaming. so if you get the agp version you should have no prob with it.

also is it a 939 or 940? (am2) board.

well you are more experienced in the GPU market, I won't argue and just agree with you :D

inbetween the x1950xtx and 2900pro.. we'll stick it to that.. which is still incredibly good.. and for the price.. amazing.. to think.. something like that was 300+ bucks just last year (8800GTS)

It is a socket 939 board. If it was am2 I could probably get a new board with pcie + like an 8800GT for less then the cost of just the 3850pro.
