If you have upgraded to MCE at any point using the Discs that came with the machine will only be able to restore the OS to that state.

The royale thing? What exactly is it? Just a theme? Or did it add the Media Center part to the OS?

If it added the Media Center then you are gonna be outta luck. Use the Sticky at the top on how to create a Disc with the i386 folder.

Is it Windows Vista or XP? If Vista it may be a bug, because something similar happened to a few people i know running Vista

Windows Vista does not have a Repair option.

Plus it was already stated that it was XP

i bought windows royale xp (the new one) dec 07.

They wont help. They will just say to format and re-install.

hmm guys i heard that uninstalling and installing back the SP2 helps...
is there any luck in it?

It is possible. You could also try and install SP3 RC2 for now. It isnt the final but it could resolve your issue till the final one comes out. Then jsut remove the RC one and isntall the final one.
