$600 computer

What components would go good in a 500-600 dollar computer?

Im thinking about a core 2 duo, and a 8800GT


Do you guys have any ideas?

Yeah if you skimp out on the ram and the case and probably even the mobo.

get a e6600 (or around that area) if you want something a little cheaper then the 8800gt for around the same performance get a 9600gt.

Thats a little harsh....



600-700 could be done might have to look around alittle but should be able to pick up a decent board, cpu, psu, case, memory,vid card, for close to that.


keep in mind cpu and vid card are going to be close to 400 just for the two, depend on the cpu.

Should I go for a 250mb card or 512mb? the 250 is quite a bit cheaper...

its up to you, 512 has better performance but the 256mb is still a great card, but which one are you considering. the 8800gt or 9600gt.

price crunch go for the 9600 do you good, pick up a good board and 2 gigs of ram. (corsair, ocz, crucial, are all good nice case 400-500 watt power supply, should be set.

for your price limit i would go with 2 gigs g.skill ram (there good and cheap) but if you want to spend more on ram get crucial tracers.

could go with oem branded ram if you had to not recommended but possible.
