right now i have onboard sound, and i have been using onboard ever since i have been using a computer. so do you think i will notice a big difference with a soundcard? if so what soundcard would be good for under $100?

you wont notice much if any change in audio quality from on board and a sound card if you are using a head set...

lol, there has been alot of threads like thise laitly. its all in your opinion. i like a sound card because it makes sound a more crisp and accurate with good speakers.

there is a total differ for me in gaming. I can now hear the fuse of grenades, ppl's footsteps on the grounds, bullets hitting walls more clearer then ever, etc in BF 2142 for example.
