How to get foam/filter for fans?

How can one get that thin foam stuff to filter dust for intake fans? Is it possible to use common household materials to make it?

My intake fans turn dusty so fast, I should change the foam every 3 months at least.

Maybe try some dryer sheets?

Dunno how much those will affect airflow, but it seems like they'd be effective for filtering dust.
