What x38 should I go with?

x38 Quad GT ($219.99)- Newegg.com - ABIT IX38 Quad GT LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

The Quad GT is Less yet they have almost the same specs. I heard the Maximus Formula was one of the best overclockers. Basically Im asking, whats the difference and is it worth going for the Maximus Formula over the Quad GT?

i hear the quad GT is better in some areas and i'm sure STE will agree.....
there should be very little to no difference in overclocking ability, they are both amazing

i would go with the Abit

If you just wanna have the name and bragging rights of having a maximus formula, then go for it.
but the Quad GT will overclock the same for cheaper.
Well, unless you care about uber 3Dmark06 scores, because its been shown in review after review that the asus maximus formula always has a higher average 3Dmark score than the Quad GT.

In the end you can't go wrong with either board, but the quad GT is cheaper, so thats the only real difference.
And the quad GT can be had for 189 with rebate right now, so thats another plus.


So if you didn't want to read that, then just go with the quad GT.

Sure you do. But even if you don't do the mail and rebate the quad GT is still cheaper.

Maximus formula if you want the auto overclocking features, if you can do it yourself then go with the quad GT.

Or put it this way, if you want to be cool like me ( who has a maximus) then get it jk
