I was looking the other day for a way to upgrade my graphics card and unfortunately i cant. i saw that seagate (i think) has a usb graphics card. Anyone ever use it or seen it?

Seagate does not, as far as I know, produce graphic cards. They're a hard drive company.

And an external graphics card is pointless. Not to mention that it might be pricey.

We discovered some time ago here that there actually was a company that made a usb 2.0 enclosure for pci express grafix cards. Problem was the enclosure cost like $700 plus the card itself. Not worth the money for most people. Too bad I can't remember the name of that company...

It seems like it would be a waste to get one even if they were more available. Usb has a a max transfer rate of about 480 mb/s, and pci express has like 4 gb/s.

I mean I've never used one or seen performance specs, but from the numbers, it sounds like there would be a huge performance hit, and would be a waste of money.
