i am going to overclock my q6600 to 3ghz or 3.2 depending on the rest of the components that i pick, however i was wondering if anyone has some suggestions as to a kick *** cpu cooler to keep it throughly chilled... noise is no issue since i have a hearing loss LOL

Get a TRUE (Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme), and a high-quality 120mm fan for it. I believe Scythe fans are recommended to go along with it.

The TRUE is the bomb. I have had as much as 1.55v through my q6600 @4.2ghz and never went over 70C.

should i add a fan and direct air removal duct as well... so if i ever decide to go extreme on the overclock?

direct air removal duct is not nessacery if you want u can get a tuniq its only a 1c diference and it comes with its own fan for 50$ i like mine also it comes with a flat copper base unlike the true.

That idea has actually been thought up, a couple times on here at least I know of.
