SATA and XP

It's not anything to do with Legacy mode, SATA, or anything else. The bottom line is, that if the XP installer recognises the disc, there isn't a problem installing to that drive.

It's not the drive, it's not the SATA controller, or anything else. My money's on the memory, or an expansion card.

well i got vista on it, i just think its a problem with xp or something.

vista works just fine and i think it just isnt worth going through the trouble of installing xp

There are some SATA controllers that have drivers that the XP cd won't have, so it won't be easy to install onto a SATA drive...

oh well i like vista ultimate so its not bad at all
