Computer restarts for no reason - Possibly heat issue?

Yea, dust is one of the major causes of overheating. Clean out that case at least once a month or every two months. From that amount of dust, I don't think that fan made any difference in the cooling ;)

Thanks again, i just checked the meters, its still at 71C but thats becasue im backing up a whole partition because my dad wont let me buy a new computer until "The hard disks fail" and ive had the computer for around 5 years now, i use it every day, for around 8 hours (running, not always on it). How long till it goes boom?

LMFAO...Yeah..That much dust could be a problem.

Also, considering that's a P4, Im guessing you haven't applied thermal paste for a long time. Buy a bottle of paste and put some on the CPU. That should lower some of your temps.

Well....If it's been working for 5 years and there's been no problems with it (ie broken platters, hardware problems etc....) then it'll probably last you for a long time. I've had my slave HDD for bout' 4 years now and it's running good as new. Hard Drives are meant to least anyways.
