Here's a good one. Power supply blow up and I mean bang with black smock it also took the motherboard with it. So built a whole new pc. Got my self a q6600 and all the bits to go with put my old hard drive in as I wanted to rescue doc's and files. But would not boot must be to many new bit like all of them. So then I put the old hd in as a second drive. Great I'm in but big problem when I click on my old user name to get into my documents it said access denied.

Any ideas how to get in

thanks

ps both os is xp pro

Right click on the folder, click Properties, click Security, click ADvanced, click the Owner tab, check the box at the bottom that says "Replace Owner on subcontainers and objects" click ok. It will do some work for a few minutes. Once it is done you should now have access to that directory.

Hi have had a go, I right click then properties but there is no security all I have is general ,sharing, customize.

Is there anything else I can do

thanks
