Re: How good are my choice of hardware?
Thanks for the replies!
I've been looking and thinking some more, and come up with a new configuration:
Motherboard:
ASRock - CONROE1333-GLAN, Intel 945GC, FSB533/800/1066/1333, GIGALAN, 8 Channel Surround Audio, SATAII RAID, Dual DDRII-533/667, LGA775 - Core 2 Duo Supported
CPU:
Intel - Core 2 Duo (Conroe) Model E6320 (1.866GHz), EM64T (EM64T), 1066FSB, 4MB Cache (LGA775), BOX
or
Intel - Core 2 Duo (Wolfdale) Model E8400 (3.0GHz), Dual Core, EM64T, 1333FSB, 6MB Cache (LGA775), BOX (I would have to wait maybe 1 month for this)
DVD-drive:
Pioneer - DVR-212, DVD±RWx18, DVD±R DLx4, SATA, Internal, Dual Layer, 2MB, White, Bulk
RAM:
Corsair - Twin2X 2x1024MB DDR2, PC6400 DDR800, CAS 5-5-5-12-T2, Twin2X2048-6400
PSU: (as suggested here)
Corsair - CMPSU-520HXEU, 520 Watt, 120mm Fan, Power Effecient, Cable Management / Modular Cables, 19 - 35 db, Temp. Auto Control
Harddisc;
Hitachi - 320 GB – SATA300 (Fluid) – 7200 RPM / 16MB - Deskstar T7K500
Graphics card: (The cost of 8800 series is more than double, and I would rather upgrade that later unless you think my choice is really bad)
BFG - GeForce 8600GTS OC (Overclocked), 256MB GDDR3, Dual DVI, TV-Out, HDTV, BFG ThermoIntelligence, PCI-Express, Retail
Better?
