Also make sure your heatsinc is a good one some work better than others.I run a AMD 3000+ overclocked with a antech heatsinc with artic silver thermal paste and it runs at 38 C.

Wouldn't it be the fact that the thermal grease is dry that is causing it to overheat? And what's causing the grease to dry? It's crap Try some Arctic Silver http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm

I'd add additional case fans, I have 2 in front pulling in & 2 in back blowing out + 1 side fan. Also get a better CPU H/Fan from Coolermaster or Equivilent. Don't go cheap on keeping your rig cool. Try stripping your box (Covers) & pointing a fan at it to see how much the temps drop.
