alright, i think i'm going to go with the e4600 with an abit ip35-e mobo for a few months until the new chips come out and the 8800 gt's come down a little more in price. i've read where some thermal paste or something else would be a good addition for this cpu. what do you guys recommend? i can get the chip packaged with the "Rosewill RCX-Z4 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler" for an extra 20 bucks through newegg.

What I have/need so far:
  • Mobo - Abit IP35-E ($60)
  • Video Card - PNY VCG8600GXPB GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express ($75)
  • RAM - 2 x 1gb sticks of Corsair DDR2 - 800 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4) ($40)
  • DVD Burner - LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with 12X DVD-RAM write and LightScribe Technology Black E-IDE/ATAPI Model LH-20A1H-185 - OEM (previously purchased 1/2007)
  • Case - Antec Sonata III 500 Black with 500W Earthwatts Power Supply ($70)
  • Power Supply - mentioned above
  • Mouse - Logitech G5 (previously purchased)
  • keyboard - old Dell quietkey
  • CPU - Needed
  • CPU cooler/paste - needed?
  • HDD - Needed
  • monitor - needed

The post above this had a question about the cpu/cooler combo if some of you want to voice opinions on that.

I'm also thinking about the Samsung 226BW for my monitor

should i be concerned about how much room either of those coolers will take up since i have a mid size (antec sonata III) case?
