Notebook LCD Cracked

I dropped my laptop and cracked the monitor. ~sigh. Toshiba tells me it will be $300- $600 to replace. I can get a new laptop for $600. Is there any way to salvage this without replacing the lcd? Something like a screen protector of the sort they have for PDA's? I still want the portability or I would just plug into a desktop monitor.

why u need screen protector as if ur laptop has been broken?

but small 14 in LCD for 150-160$ and use it with.

If the LCD still works then keep using it and changed the computer name to Ghetto Fabulous.

No it wont, screen protector for PDA's are actually to prevent scren from getting scratched, as one have to use stylus on PDA screen, and if accidently a micron grain of sand gets into the stylus's trip, it brings adverse effects on it, therefore screen protectors are used.

it wont protect your scren from getting damaged anyway, unless u squeeze or disturb the screen more, and still it wont crack, but will spread the liquid inside more.
