Mouse Problems

Hi, I have a Logitech V220 optical mouse, and it seems if it's not perfectly straight (Up & Down) the pointer will not go where I desire it to go. When playing the few games I do play, it gets annoying

try cleaning the lens underneath the mouse.

I tried that and it still didn't improve the performance..would a regular mouse you'd use on a desktop pc work on a laptop? I'm thinking I might just buy a wired optical mouse, because it seems you need to spend a good deal of money for a wireless that works perfectly because I have an MX 700 wireless on my desktop PC and it's been awesome for nearly 2 years now. Any suggestions on a decent mouse that isnt killer in price that I can use to play games on my laptop?
