hey guys, i have a c2d e6550 and i am looking for an aftermarket cpu hs (not liquidcooling)
what is the best hs on the market for a good price ($50-$70)
i will be buying it from NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection.
i have an NZXT Trinity case just incase you need to know if the hs will fit or not?

agreed on the TRUE, but it comes with no fan, so use the other 6$ to get a good one, or get a Tuniq Tower 120, or a Scythe Infinity

tuniq is loud!
is it possible to switch out the fan tho?
i want a scythe

Its possible, I've seen people at XS who claim to have done it

also that Tutorial I usually show when people ask how to build their own PC, shows the Tuniq Fan

ok cool thanks guys, now what do i need to know about installing it? are there any precautions i should take, do need thermal compound?

It comes with some, but you would be better off with MX-2

as for precautions, I recommend you pull out your board from your system, mount the Tuniq on the board and then put the board on your system (I'm assuming your replacing your current cooler?)
