Computer Keeps Freezing

I RECENTLY ASSEMBLED A COMPUTER FOR FRIEND AND ITS THE INTEL 2.4GHZ 256K 533FSB, 256MB DDR MEMORY,80GB HARDDRIVE, NOW THE TEMPERATURE READS 58 DEGREES C, AND AFTER A WHILE THE COMPUTER FREEZES AND I HAVE TO REBOOT, CPU FAN WORKS FINE, WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM.

Oh my God, is this that cold in Sound Africa? that a heat dissapating machine stats freezing? (sorry for that!! )

hmm, P-4 doesnt freeze though when gets heated up, it slows (p-3 does freeze)

tell me one thing, have you put any thermal material between CPU and Heatsink?

When you say "After a while" Is that like 5 min or a couple of hours??

Also, does it beep at all when rebooting?

What brand of memory did you put in the system? Also, what's the mobo's manufacturer and model #?
