windows installer

I'm having some problems with several of my programs accessing the windows installer. windows live messenger is but one of the programs on my pc. I was wondering if there was any way to repair the installer or to reinstall it. thanks!

thank you both. alvin c, the site you provided was exactly what I needed. atomic tofu, I ran the site you provided as well, and as far as I know it worked out just fine as well. the programs I was trying to install have now been installed
