Hey everyone, first time posting here. ~waves~

I have a question. I want to get a better processor for my computer. But I don't know how fast of a processor my motherboard can handle. Does anyone know where I can find that info?

I have an ASUS A7N8X-VM Motherboard. Specs are found here ( ASUS A7N8X-VM Specs - DealTime ), but I am looking at them and can't find where I would find the answer to my question. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post your specs so we can see what other components you have.

That mobo will support the AthlonXP processors, so you aren't going to be able to get anything too fast (if you can even find them anymore) but without knowing what you already have it's hard to make a suggestion.

That would probably help huh?

AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ 1.83 GHz Performance Rated at 2.50 GHz

1 gig of ram

It can handle 400 FSB, so it should be able to run the 3200+. The 3200 was the fastest socket A CPU made.

The problem is that there aren't that many floating around out there.

Okay, when looking for an AMD 3200 then should I be paying attention to the FSB? Or am I safe with pretty much any model that's 3200, you know, things like the Athlon or XP...?
