E6750 or AM2 6400BE? Rig for roomy!

the intel one is pretty future proof, he could always upgrade to a wolfy or quad later on. he could also use SLI. which is good b/c he has an 8800GT right now.

the AMD on is good b/c he could upgrade to a phenom later if they ever fix them. But only 1 nvidia card. He's sticking with nvidia, so no hopes for crossfire. But the 6400BE is just badass hehe.

so what do you guys think? out of those two i told him get the intel one. it has more pros. But he really likes AMD.

He could just get the 5000+ BE for $100 and hit 6400+ speeds, and run cooler and use less power.

true...but the 6400 has extra cache as well...so your saying go with the AMD rig?

The extra cahce from the 6400+ isnt worth an extra $60 to me. And theres several good board under $150, theres the m2n-sli deluxe which is just the sli version of my board.

SLI is waste of money in my opinion

the two reasons why he doesnt want to go with AMD, is the AM2 boards are the only ones with sli, no AM2+ and he doesnt want to have to upgrade to take FULL advantage of phenom, and the fact that the intel 775 is prolly a more future proof socket.

well he wants to get an e8400, but hes waiting for a q8500 or something of that sort. so e6750 for now. I think hes going with the DFI board, g skill 2gb, and e6750.
