if u r getting A7N8X-E Deluxe, better to get Barton with 400Mhz FSB as this board can support buses 400/333/266/200

I have used A7N8X Deluxe on 3000 Barton (absolute stability and performance)

any. 333 / 400

E series in intel is Presott, it runs slightly hotter. if u want to buy Intel, then better go for 2.8 C (not E)

as P4P800 is as well very nice board, (P4C800 is for performance users, as ma using P4C800)

ok so i think this is my final decision

ASUS "A7N8X" nForce2 Ultra 400 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket A CPU with a AMD Athlon XP 3000+ "Barton", 333 FSB, 512K Cache Processor with a RAIDMAX Blue 10-bay Case with 420W Power Supply, Model "ATX-868WUP"

for a final price of $292 at newegg.com

any other final comments/suggestions before i order this?

doom3/half life 2 here i come :D

just to let you know in depth (to clarify ur decision about intel 2.8), i'm writing difference in both E and C Series:

Intel 2.8E Processor:

Core: Prescott
L2= 1MB
Micron Technology = 0.90
HT = No HT enabled
FSB = 533

Intel 2.8C processor:

Core: Northwood
L2 = 512K
Micron Technology: 0.13
HT = Yes , Fully HT enabled
FSB = 800Mhz

2.8E runs a little hotter, and is slower than 2.8C
